The Chiefs Steering Committee on Technical Services (representing Treaty 6, 7, and 8 Nations) has raised serious alarms over Bill C-37, the new First Nations Clean Water Act<\/em>.<\/p>\n Despite promises of working together, the government sidelined First Nations and removed explicit recognition of Inherent and Treaty water rights. We cannot fix a crisis with policies that shift the burden onto First Nations peoples without proper funding frameworks.<\/p>\n I stand with Treaty leadership in calling on Minister Mandy Gull-Masty to pause Bill C-37 and return to transparent, good faith dialogue.<\/p>\n
